Hi,
Welcome to Lifeline for Week
VII.
One thing we are passionate about in Student
Life is encouraging each person to be truly following Jesus. Not just
for a season whilst it is convenient, but for life. This implies a radical
transformation of heart, Spirit-led from the inside-out, leading to our
character becoming more important than our comfort. Tragically, many of us
grow older as people but this does not mean we necessarily grow
up.
Below are some ideas in how to be serious
about growing up in your faith during your tenure at UQ.
This is not intended to be an exhaustive list, so if you have any further ideas
please reply to this email and hopefully we can publish your contributions in
next week's Lifeline
1) Grow deeper in your walk with the Lord through prayer and fasting

for some helpful resources).
2) Find our more about
discipleship/mentoring opportunities in Student Life UQ. Contact
John
or Lainey
for more info.
3)
Pursue integrity in your studies. Seek to assist those in your classes who
struggle with the workload and pray for opportunities to genuinely encourage
those to whom success comes easily.
Duly notify tutors/lecturers if you are ever given a higher mark in error
(warning: this may confound classmates!)
4)
Get involved in a Core Group Bible Study, a great
opportunity to network and spur on other Jesus followers in your
faculty.
5)
Aim to be present and active for each of your assigned
university contact hours. Arriving
five minutes early gives you a great opportunity to connect with classmates and
show interest in their lives. Setting a personal goal of trying
to introduce yourself to one new person in your course each week can be a
healthy one, particularly in early years.
A Revival Rally for all who call Christ
Saviour. Unify 2 Glorify (U2g) is designed to inspire and stir
one another into action, unite us in a passion for His name and for His Glory,
praying and worship with one heart and one mouth.
U2G is a great opportunity for various Christian
groups around campus to join together in seeking God's heart for our campus
and our city.
